Recently, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe stated that if a suitable opportunity arises in the future, the company is willing to discuss or consider bringing Palworld to the Switch 2 in some form.
Mizobe also affirmed the importance of the Switch 2 to the global gaming market, especially its significance to Japan and the Japanese game industry. Although Pocketpair is currently embroiled in patent litigation with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over Palworld, the company has not rejected Nintendo hardware as a result.
John "Bucky" Buckley, Pocketpair's Head of Communications and Publishing Manager, previously stated that porting the game to new platforms is "definitely worth considering" as long as the console's performance can support it. Another title from the company, Overload Dungeon, was released on Switch early last year; however, since Palworld is at the center of ongoing litigation, actual porting arrangements may be more complex.
Major titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy, and Elden Ring have also demonstrated the Switch 2's potential to handle such games.
