RAWRLAB Games has confirmed that Beyond The Mist, a suspenseful horror adventure game independently developed by Yliader, will launch first on Steam on October 31. The Switch version is scheduled for release on November 19 and will be playable on Switch 2 via backward compatibility.
On the same day as the Switch release, GTA 6 will also officially launch. However, the latter will only be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, meaning the two games do not share identical platform coverage. Beyond The Mist is priced at $5.99, with a 20% discount during its first week on sale, bringing the price down to approximately $4.79.
Inspired by classic Game Boy games from the 1990s, this title casts players as Arthur Webb, an elderly lighthouse keeper tasked with maintaining the lighthouse during winter. Days are filled with repetitive daily chores, while nights bring unsettling dreams and eerie visions.
The gameplay is akin to an interactive visual novel, featuring dialogue reading, menu navigation, puzzles, and branching choices. It offers three endings and multiple narrative paths. The soundtrack includes original 8-bit music and instrumental scores composed by Gjoll. Beyond The Mist is also a major reimagining of Yliader's early Game Boy title, The Mist, which can be played in browsers and was previously released as a physical cartridge compatible with Game Boy Color.
