About Dav Pilkey
With the publication of Dog.exe Man: A Sprinkle in Time, Dav Pilkey has been creating and illustrating award-winning bestselling works for children for 40 years. As a child, Dav was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Unable to sit still in class, his teacher sent him to the hallway every day for reflection—it was there that he immersed himself in creating his comics, giving birth to the earliest adventures of Dog.exe Man and Captain Underpants.
During college, Dav met a teacher who encouraged him to create content for children. He took her advice and created his first book, World War Won, which won a national competition in 1986. Dav's stories are semi-autobiographical and explore universal themes such as friendship, empathy, and the triumph of kindness. When not creating for children, Dav enjoys kayaking in the Pacific Northwest with his wife.
