According to The Hollywood Reporter, Connor Storrie, star of the sports romance series "Heated Rivalry," is in talks to join the Marvel film "Ghost Rider" and will play the main villain.
However, it is currently unclear which villain Storrie will play in this new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, given that the anti-hero has faced relatively few villains over the years. But one character is definitely off the table: Marvel's Mephisto, since Sacha Baron Cohen has already portrayed this role in the Disney+ series "Ironheart." Nevertheless, Storrie's character might be closely related to his familiar territory.
One of the roles Connor Storrie could potentially play in the film is Blackheart, a demon from Marvel Comics and the son of Mephisto. Although he made his debut in "Daredevil" and clashed with the "Man Without Fear," Blackheart's character is not static; he often acts against the interests of Hell's demons to pursue his own goals. Therefore, if he were to play Blackheart, he might serve as a kind of mirror image to Ghost Rider in the film.
Connor Storrie could also play other potential Ghost Rider villains (not yet claimed by the MCU, such as Dormammu), like Nightmare, who previously collaborated with the demon Zarathos to take complete control of Johnny Blaze's body; or even Zarathos himself, the entity who possessed Blaze to make him Ghost Rider.
It is too early to guess which villain Storrie will play in the new "Ghost Rider" film, partly because we don't even know which version of the motorcycle-riding, flaming-skulled hero Gosling will portray. While it is widely believed he will play Johnny Blaze, the Oscar-nominated actor could very well play Danny Ketch. All we know is that Gosling's plans for the film are moving quickly.
In the new "Ghost Rider" film, Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider and reunite with director Shawn Levy. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige previously stated that Gosling is a comic book fan who approached Marvel with a clear vision based on specific comics.
