Final Fantasy: Resonance launched on Steam on October 23, topping the Japanese premium games chart and ranking fourth globally on Steam's official weekly chart for October 20–27, just behind Cyberpunk 2077.
On its release day, the game ranked second globally and first in Japan on Steam's official sales charts. Data from the unofficial tracking site SteamDB shows that the game reached 27,933 concurrent players on launch day, with the peak further rising to 42,885 on October 25. At the time of reporting, its overall user reviews on Steam were "Overwhelmingly Positive."
Final Fantasy: Resonance is a turn-based RPG built on the concept of "what if the Final Fantasy series had continued to evolve with pixel graphics." The development team re-examined all elements of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, originally released for smartphones, and transformed it into a premium title featuring HD-2D visuals.
In addition to Steam, Final Fantasy: Resonance has also launched on Microsoft Store, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The continuous changes in its day-one rankings, weekly chart positions, and peak concurrent players reflect the game's initial popularity in the Japanese market and among global Steam users.
