Nintendo has partnered with the Italian company Panini to release "The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection" physical collector cards to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess have both been confirmed for inclusion, but this announcement is not related to game ports or HD remaster plans.
This card set will feature artwork from various games, characters, and eras in the series. Titles already listed include The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
The deck also includes The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, covering several key stages of the series. Panini will also release dedicated collector albums for storing the cards, and the product box design has already been revealed.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess previously received HD versions on the Wii U, but there are still no native Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 versions. This announcement only concerns the anniversary physical collector cards; Nintendo has not used this opportunity to confirm any ports, remasters, or remakes for the two games.
