Seagate announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, ended October 2, 2026. Dave Mosley, Chairman and CEO, stated that the company achieved record profitability amid an improving demand environment, with free cash flow in the September quarter reaching an all-time high.
Seagate believes that the creation, retention, and reuse of data are continuously driving up storage demand. The visibility into customers' long-term needs also supports the company's outlook for a multi-year growth phase.
On the technical front, Seagate will continue to advance its HAMR-based technology roadmap, increasing areal density to meet the growing demand for exabyte-scale capacity while maintaining supply discipline.
The company also views its value-based pricing strategy and stronger balance sheet as key supports for its ongoing operations.
