Blizzard has now opened pre-launch character creation and name reservation for World of Warcraft: Infinite. Eligible players can create and name up to three characters in advance to prepare for the official launch on November 4.
Players must first complete the pre-installation via Battle.net and purchase the Skyborne Heroic Pack, priced at $30, at minimum. This pack also grants access to the new optional race, the Skyborne Elves. Once these conditions are met, players can log into the game and select their preferred ruleset to play.
Unlike other versions of World of Warcraft, characters in World of Warcraft: Infinite must have both a first name and a last name. Players should also choose their ruleset carefully, as Blizzard has confirmed that characters cannot be transferred to other rulesets after launch; within the same Player vs. Player ruleset, players can only create characters for a single faction.
The game's testing phase has now concluded. Blizzard recently announced commitments to adjust racial abilities, improve the layering system, and add new server options, while also releasing a player-versus-player animated music video themed around the conflict between the Alliance and the Horde. World of Warcraft: Infinite will launch on PC on November 4, becoming the first version of World of Warcraft with full controller support.
