New item dismantling, craftable familiars, and magical sigils allow you to freely customize your casting style
Witchspire, the open-world co-op adventure game developed by Envar Games, has launched the "Dormant Powers" update. Just three weeks after the previous major update, "Haunted Magick," this new patch expands gameplay once again with Weapon System 2.0, item dismantling, new familiars, and additional spells, offering even more possibilities for your magical adventures with friends.
Dismantle idle items and craft brand-new familiars by hand
The "Dormant Powers" update introduces an item dismantling feature, allowing players to break down unwanted items for crafting materials. You can also craft familiars for the first time through the crafting system.
The new companion, Scrappy, can only be obtained through crafting and comes in six variants, each with unique elemental abilities. This update also improves familiar controls and adds an emote wheel—now you can finally scratch Locto under the chin.
Of course, Scrappy can also be dismantled... but which heartless wizard would have the courage to do so?
Weapon System 2.0 launches, enabling free combination of weapons and spells
Weapon System 2.0 represents one of the most significant mechanical changes in Witchspire to date, including adjustments to the weapon upgrade station. Players can freely swap spell gems between different weapon bases, experimenting repeatedly to find the perfect magical combination.
Weapons and spell gems can now be upgraded, letting your favorite magical blades accompany you throughout your journey. This combat system update also introduces various new spells, expanding role specialization in co-op battles: one partner can provide support with shields and healing, while the other focuses on dealing massive burst damage.
Add Sigils to spells and experiment with more magical effects
Want more variety in your spells? The new **Sigils** item can attach powerful effects to your magic, such as firing dense barrages via multi-shot or making spells orbit around you.
The rarer the spell, the more Sigils it can hold. Mix and match different effects to see what new tricks you can pull off!
Continuous updates enrich the magical world
"Dormant Powers" is the latest update during Witchspire's Early Access period. Earlier this month, the "Haunted Magick" update brought several quality-of-life improvements such as inventory management, along with new outfits, new character head appearances, a Gothic building set with 82 pieces, over 40 additional decorative items, and two new familiars: Enmire and Pumpaling.
