US retailer Best Buy has listed the Acer Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld, with a starting price of $1,299.99 on its page. The device features an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics, equipped with 24GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.
For comparison, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, priced at $1,799, uses the same processor but offers 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Acer's model is priced approximately $500 lower, while reducing memory and storage capacity.
The Predator Atlas 8 features an 8-inch WUXGA screen with a resolution of 1920×1200, using a 120Hz IPS panel with 500 nits brightness and 100% sRGB color coverage. Other specifications include TMR joysticks, Hall effect triggers, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and Wi-Fi 7, with the TMR joysticks designed to reduce drift and improve precision.
In previous hands-on experiences at Computex, this device running Forza Horizon 6 with XeSS enabled demonstrated better performance and visual quality than the Ryzen Z2 Extreme handhelds seen on site. However, $1,299.99 is still a high price point, and current information comes solely from retailer listings. Specific availability, final pricing, and configurations remain subject to Acer's official sales materials.
