The development team behind "Cozy Grove" has confirmed that both endings of the game are considered canonical, with no single correct path that excludes the other. Free updates and paid DLCs are currently in development, but specific details, pricing, and release dates have not yet been announced.
Yuu Uegami, lead planner and game designer, stated that the team initially did not plan for two endings. However, they felt that both narrative developments had their own merits and persuasiveness, so they decided to keep both. The route where Kinju survives in human form aligns more closely with the feel of "Yomawari," while the route where you bring the Kinju sapling home better fits the style of "Cozy Grove" itself.
In terms of long-term gameplay design, some crops are only unlocked after the second year to allow for new content in subsequent years while preventing players from being overwhelmed by too many choices early on. Nighttime events trigger approximately every two to three days, but their occurrence is entirely random; thunderstorms only appear in summer and autumn, occurring about two to three times per month even at higher frequencies.
In response to player feedback, the development team is considering adjusting the frequency of thunderstorms, adding more yokai-related mechanisms, and planning to include a storyline where the player starts a new life in Hitsuji Village after resolving all events.
"Cozy Grove" has surpassed 250,000 copies in cumulative sales, with over 600 reviews on Steam and a 91% positive rating. The game is currently available on PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
