Team Curiosity launched the Spaceflight Simulator 2 graphics demo on Steam on October 28. This version focuses on performance testing, allowing players to freely browse five scenes to check their computer's visual quality and performance while experiencing the game's new rendering technology.
The graphics demo also includes the planet editor from Spaceflight Simulator 2. Players can create terrain, adjust planetary appearances, and immediately explore their custom-made planets. However, this demo does not offer the full game experience.
Spaceflight Simulator 2 continues in the direction of its predecessor, allowing players to design and build their own rockets and spacecraft to explore the solar system. The game employs realistic orbital mechanics and aerodynamics, with planned features including rocket launches, planetary landings, space station construction, lunar rover driving, and extravehicular activities.
The construction system features over 120 parts, including engines, boosters, fuel tanks, crew capsules, heat shields, space station modules, and landing gear. Design and operation involve real-world aerospace engineering concepts such as stage separation and specific impulse. The PC release date has not yet been determined, and Japanese language support is not available.
