Indie developer Ossan has revealed the Steam store page for Chrome Iris, a customizable mecha girl action game. Developed for PC, the title allows players to adjust both combat loadouts and character appearance, with a demo now available on itch.io.
The game stars a girl-type robot named "Iris." Players can combine ranged weapons, melee weapons, thrusters, and mechanical parts, utilizing high-output thrusters to quickly close in on enemies. The equipment system supports four weapon slots, five armor components, and a generator; outfits can be changed but do not affect character stats.
The character editor features sliders for hairstyles, facial features, and body types. The main gameplay loop revolves around arena battles: players fight NPCs, earn rewards upon victory, and use them to purchase new parts while climbing the ranks.
The developer refers to themselves as "just a Raven" on their X profile, leading some to speculate that the game may be inspired by the Armored Core series. However, there is currently no information regarding official licensing or partnerships. Chrome Iris has not yet announced an official release date.
