A few days after the Nintendo Switch 2 jailbreak was made public, several developers showcased early results of running games from the platform on hardware other than Nintendo consoles. Private modification tools have enabled Mario Kart: World to run on the iPhone 18 Pro, and Splatoon: Squid Strike Team has also launched on PC, reaching the character selection screen.
Will Faust used a privately modified version of nxnative to demonstrate Mario Kart: World on mobile. He had previously shown a macOS version, but it suffered from missing geometry and color errors. nxnative executes original Switch program code directly on Apple ARM hardware while translating Nintendo's graphics API to Metal; adapting it for Switch 2 also requires handling the new NVN2 graphics interface.
Faust stated that the mobile demonstration used less than 6.5GB of physical RAM, meaning devices with 8GB of memory might also be able to run it. However, he has clearly stated that he will not release the related Switch 2 modification code.
Meanwhile, Sheepish demonstrated a privately modified version of the Eden emulator launching Splatoon: Squid Strike Team on PC. The initial build could not get past the opening cinematic, but subsequent demos reached the character selection screen. However, significant performance drops, missing features, and broken vertical sync remained issues.
Other footage showed Donkey Kong: Banana Bonanza running on PC, though with limited technical details provided. These demonstrations used different technical approaches and do not yet prove broad compatibility for Switch 2 games. No public versions are available for independent reproduction, and the Eden demo has not yet reached a playable state.
