In an investor memo, Bank of America predicts that Rockstar may launch a new online mode for GTA VI in the first quarter of 2027, between January and March.
The memo suggests that investors have not yet fully recognized the potential revenue scale of the so-called "GTA Online 2.0." GTA Online has long generated income for Rockstar and Take-Two through extensive microtransactions, leading Bank of America to believe that the new generation of online mode could provide even more reasons for players to invest time and money.
The series has previously launched single-player content first, followed by online modes. Neither GTA V nor Red Dead Redemption 2 offered online multiplayer support at launch, making it possible for GTA VI to follow a similar arrangement. The memo also speculates that a PC version may be released around the same time to boost revenue, though this has not been officially confirmed.
Take-Two's stock price has fallen 21% this year, dropping below $200 this week after a 52-week high of $265. Bank of America maintains its "Buy" rating but lowered its target price from $380 to $330, which is still over 60% higher than the stock price at the time of the report. GTA VI will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
