Market research firm Circana released its latest survey data, revealing that 29% of console and PC gamers in the United States plan to purchase GTA 6. This means nearly one in three players intends to buy the game, setting a new record for purchase intent in Circana's history.
Analyst Mat Piscatella commented that GTA 6 is a rare cultural and commercial event for the gaming industry. It has been a full 13 years since the release of the previous main installment, Grand Theft Auto V, and the long wait has generated immense market hype. The analyst believes this surge will not only drive software sales but also boost consumer demand for console hardware, peripherals, and game subscription services. Many players who have not yet upgraded their consoles may purchase a PS5 or Xbox Series specifically for this title.
GTA 6 will officially launch on November 19, coinciding with Black Friday and the year-end holiday shopping season. It is expected to stimulate spending across the entire gaming ecosystem, further amplifying the market performance of games and related hardware. The game will initially launch exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms, with no PC version announced yet.
