Netmarble has confirmed that the action RPG "Solo Leveling: Arise & Awaken" will launch on PS5 next week. The PC version was previously released, while the PS5 version adopts a buy-to-play model without microtransactions or live-service elements.
Based on the story of the Korean webtoon "Solo Leveling," the game retells the original plot while adding extra content. Players can enjoy single-player mode or experience cooperative play. The Xbox store page shows that, in addition to the base game, there are a few DLC packs available for separate purchase.
The PC version received harsh reviews when it launched last year. GamingBolt gave it a 4 out of 10, criticizing the game's poor adaptation of the source material and its repetitive, tedious gameplay. The review also noted that many iconic moments from the original work were presented directly through comic panels rather than letting players experience them firsthand.
It has been a year since the PC version was released, and the original article suggests that the PS5 version may be more polished. However, whether these adjustments can resolve core issues such as repetitive gameplay and adaptation approach remains to be seen once the new version is actually released.
