Co-op Horror Game 'R.E.P.O.' Confirmed for Switch 2 in 2027

During the latest Indie World showcase, Nintendo confirmed that R.E.P.O., a co-op horror game developed by Semiwork, is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The game was previously released in Early Access on PC, but the specific release date and version details for the Switch 2 edition have not yet been announced.

In the game, players control robots hired by a mysterious computer intelligence. Together with friends, they enter haunted locations left behind by humans to find and carry valuable items, eventually evacuating with the loot. Mission objectives could range from heavy pianos to fragile pottery, requiring teamwork to safely deliver them to their destination.

The horror atmosphere and physics system are the game's main features. The weight and fragility of items affect how they are carried, which can also exacerbate chaos during team operations.

Semiwork has not yet clarified whether there are any content or feature differences between this version and the PC version. Some media outlets have speculated, based on Nintendo's usual practice of not offering early access games on its platforms, that the game may not launch on Switch 2 until after the 1.0 version is complete. However, this is not an official release condition announced by the development team. At present, the developers have only confirmed the platform and a 2027 release window.
