Spanish media outlet Nintenderos published a subjective ranking of the Detective Conan theatrical films, placing the fifth film, Countdown to Heaven, at number one. The cases ranked second and third were Captured in Her Eyes and The Phantom of Baker Street, respectively.
This ranking primarily evaluates case conception, core plot development, and pacing, while also comparing shifts in the series' style: earlier entries emphasize a traditional detective atmosphere, whereas recent films rely more on large-scale action sequences.
According to the list, Countdown to Heaven intertwines romantic subplots, Ai Haibara's traumatic past, the threat of the Black Organization, and a skyscraper fire, culminating in a scene where a vehicle leaps between buildings using the force of an explosion. Captured in Her Eyes combines the personal drama of Ran Mouri after she loses her memory with the suspense of a serial case.
The Phantom of Baker Street, which took third place, was praised for its Victorian London atmosphere, its homage to Arthur Conan Doyle's literature, and its social critique centered on the education system. The list also placed Strategy Above the Depth and Black Iron Submarine among the top entries, while ranking Sunflowers of Inferno last, criticizing its character motivations, deductive reasoning, and destructive set pieces.
