The developers behind Triple Town, Letter Bear, and Cozy Forest have announced that the fantasy multiplayer online game Spiritfarer will launch on PC, Switch, and Switch 2 on November 16 (November 17 Beijing time), accompanied by a new trailer. The game uses a one-time purchase model, granting permanent access to the full game upon purchase.
The story of Spiritfarer takes place in a cloud world devastated by magical storms. Players need to rebuild settlements, heal trapped souls, and help them rediscover joy through music. After communicating with souls, players may receive unique items and gradually learn about their individual experiences.
Life gameplay includes mixing and matching hairstyles, hair colors, and outfits, as well as decorating homes with furniture, plants, rugs, and lamps. When storms arrive, players can seek shelter around shared bonfires with other travelers, chat, or improvise musical performances together, or simply fish quietly side by side.
Other players initially appear as shadowy figures, only gaining color after high-fiving or participating in activities together. The development team stated that the core of the game lies in small acts of kindness and brief connections that alleviate loneliness.
In addition to the one-time purchase of the base game, there is an optional monthly Cozy Club membership. Members can customize their flying pet, Fluffy Cow, collect exclusive items, and access a limited-resource exchange shop; this membership is not required to access the full game.
