The Elder Scrolls 6 May Be Titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, Set in Hammerfell

Recent reports suggest that Bethesda may officially title The Elder Scrolls VI as The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, with the game potentially set in Hammerfell and possibly announced as early as November 2026. However, Bethesda has yet to confirm these rumors.

According to Tom Warren from The Verge, the new game's story may focus on exploring the history of the "Elder Scrolls" themselves. This core concept has always been present in the series' title but hasn't received the same level of in-depth exploration in the past. Sentinel City is a major city in Hammerfell, so the rumored subtitle aligns with the proposed setting.

Related speculation involves two clues. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma previously hinted at an eight-letter word after mentioning The Elder Scrolls VI. Additionally, players decoded the employee number consistently displayed on the Starfield character creation screen by splitting the digits and converting them into letters, ultimately arriving at "Sentinel."

Bethesda first announced The Elder Scrolls VI at E3 2018, during the launch phase of Fallout 76, using the opportunity to assure players that it had not abandoned single-player games. Currently, Bethesda has not confirmed the subtitle, the Hammerfell setting, the story direction, or a specific release date.
