In its Fall 2026 series update, Ubisoft confirmed that there are currently no other Assassin's Creed remasters in active development following Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag: Memory Remastered. Rumors surrounding a remake of the original Assassin's Creed are not supported by any official plans at this stage.
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag: Memory Remastered was released on July 9, marking the first remaster in the series. Ubisoft stated that rebuilding the old systems from scratch was a massive undertaking. The title reportedly performed well in the market and has received its final major content update.
Relevant teams are currently focused on developing the next batch of Assassin's Creed titles, which includes unrevealed projects featuring new settings and stories. Ubisoft has not permanently ruled out continuing to remake older titles, stating that it will still explore ways to bring legacy games back.
The darker-styled Assassin's Creed: Witch is steadily progressing, with the next major announcement scheduled for 2027; no release window has been provided yet. The multiplayer project, Assassin's Creed: Invictus, is also undergoing adjustments. After hundreds of players participated in private prototype testing, they praised the return of PvP, parkour, and the ability to play as characters from different entries in the series, while also expressing hope that the project will further strengthen the core elements of Assassin's Creed.
