Minecraft has launched RTX Remix 1.6, bringing full path tracing support to Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1. Players can currently experience this effect in a dedicated demo world created by Blockworks, observing more realistic lighting through high-resolution PBR textures.
This update also improves tools for modders, making it easier for developers to continue upgrading the visuals of other classic games. However, current information only confirms version 1.21.1 and the specified demo world, meaning that full path tracing cannot be directly enabled in all Java Edition worlds.
Minecraft also announced several advancements in graphics technology. After its release on Steam and the Epic Games Store, the PC version of Phantom Blade Zero will support ray tracing, path tracing, and DLSS 4.5, with features including dynamic multi-frame generation and ray reconstruction.
RTX Spark, aimed at the Windows ARM development ecosystem, showcases DLSS 5 and 3D-guided neural rendering, with the latter initially applied to NBA 2K27. Developers can also use the Unreal Engine version of the DLSS 4.5 plugin, as well as RTX Branch code optimized for Unreal Engine 5.8.
Minecraft ACE has also received an update, featuring the Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B model that can process NPC dialogue locally on user devices. The open-source project MotionBricks is used to generate real-time physics-based character animations and is currently in preview.
