The indie turn-based JRPG Threads of Time has announced its new release schedule, planning to launch in Summer 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. This marks the first confirmation of versions for both Switch models, expanding the game's target console platforms.
The last major public update for Threads of Time was a trailer released during Tokyo Game Show 2025. After nearly a year of silence, which sparked concerns about the project's status, the announcement of the new release window confirms that development is still ongoing.
Centered on traversing different eras, the game invites players to embark on an adventure across time and space to stop evil forces from rewriting the world's past, present, and future. Featuring HD-2D pixel art, the title includes multiple characters and diverse exploration areas, with combat driven by a deep turn-based system.
The only confirmed details so far are the Summer 2027 release window and the four target platforms listed above. Specific release date, pricing, and edition details have not yet been announced. Xbox Play Anywhere support has also not been confirmed.
