Those rushing to build PCs recently may be feeling the pain. According to the latest retail price analysis report released by Hardware Unboxed, global GPU prices have risen for the third consecutive month. The average increase in October was around 10%, expanding to 11% when NVIDIA's RTX 5090 is included in the statistics.
This marks the third consecutive month of price increases in the GPU market, with overall prices now approximately 35% higher than they were three months ago.
Looking at the monthly price increase trends, this round of price hikes is not a short-term spike but rather shows a steady upward trajectory. The global average GPU price rose by 15% in August, 7% in September, and another 10% in October, with no signs of the momentum slowing down yet.
This survey covered 10 countries worldwide, including major markets such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Poland.
The methodology did not calculate the average price across all brands and models. Instead, it tracked the cheapest available model in each market and compared it with data from September and February 2026 to reflect trends in the lowest purchasable prices across different markets.
Looking at specific models, the RTX 5090 recorded the largest increase this month, with a global average monthly rise of 32%. In the US market, the cheapest RTX 5090 has gone from $6,890 in September to $9,400 (approximately 62,608 RMB). In Germany, the price climbed from €5,640 to €8,000 (approximately 59,664 RMB).
In Poland, the price surged directly to 38,000 PLN (approximately 64,577 RMB), with flagship card prices continuing to break records.
The RTX 5080 was not spared either, with an average monthly increase of 22%. In the US market, the lowest price jumped from $1,580 to $2,200 (approximately 14,652 RMB), a staggering 39% rise. In Germany, prices rose 40% from September levels to €2,100 (approximately 15,660 RMB).
Furthermore, stock for the RTX 5080 is becoming tight in some retail channels, significantly reducing its availability.
In addition, AMD GPUs have followed the same upward trend. The global average price for the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB rose by 17%, while both the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT saw a 12% increase.
On the Intel side, the Arc B580 has also seen a price increase of around 10%, though the magnitude varies between countries.
Overall, excluding the RTX 5090, current average GPU prices are 44% higher than the initial MSRP. The Canadian market sees the most severe premium at 58.3%, followed closely by the US at 57.6%, Germany at 45.3%, and Poland at 43.1%.
