Sega has released a new character introduction video for "Virtua Fighter: Clash of Destiny," officially unveiling young fighter Lionel Rafael. He demonstrates strength sufficient to overpower Hierro, one of the game's four protagonists, during their street encounter.
Lionel appears in the fictional Southeast Asian city of Virasapara, renowned for its fighting scene, though his specific purpose for coming here has not been disclosed. This footage primarily showcases his combat abilities, locations, and his first confrontation with Hierro.
"Virtua Fighter: Clash of Destiny" is a brand-new entry in the "Virtua Fighter" series, developed by RGG Studio. Beyond the series' traditional versus mechanics, the game incorporates significant story and city exploration elements, featuring an anthology-style structure with four protagonists. Players can explore the central district, entertainment zone, and resort areas of Virasapara. Main and side stories will depict connections between local characters, as well as the beliefs and past ties of each protagonist.
In addition to retaining battles that emphasize psychological mind games, the combat system plans to include multiplayer brawls and boss fights integrated with the story, as well as online versus mode. The game is scheduled for release in 2027, with platforms and pricing yet to be announced.
