The Ghost of Yotei 2.009 update is now available for download by PS5 players, with version number 02.009.000. This patch mainly fixes bugs and makes minor adjustments, without adding new content. According to the patch notes released by Sucker Punch Productions, this update adds an option to "not skip the prologue" in New Game+ mode, and fixes an issue where character loading was abnormal when switching back to the main game from the "Endless Pursuit" mode, along with several other bug fixes.
The 2.009 update is also the second hotfix released for Ghost of Yotei this month. The patch released last week reduced the number of Viper Rations required to purchase dye caravan routes, fixed an issue where recipes could not remain unlocked in New Game+, and addressed anomalies causing soft locks in specific missions of "String Continuation Sekigahara," as well as multiple errors such as progress loss in "Endless Pursuit."
In terms of patch size, 2.009 is a typical maintenance update, focusing on resolving specific issues affecting gameplay rather than introducing new features or balancing changes. For players still progressing through New Game+ or the "Endless Pursuit" mode, the prologue skip option and the fix for loading errors have practical value. Currently, the official team has not revealed any plans for larger-scale updates in the future.
