Last month's "COSMOS" update saw a surge of both new and returning travelers exploring the No Man's Sky universe, experiencing the comprehensive space overhaul introduced by the update. The space between planets is now teeming with new discoveries, allowing players not only to claim and customize their own space stations but also enjoy much more. Today, with the release of our next update, "FORSAKEN," our stage remains in space, but things have become... darker!
Containers holding organic matter have begun to appear in deep space, hidden in the corners and shadows of derelict freighters and infected outposts. These eerie memorabilia have attracted mysterious traders from across the universe, all eager to collect these samples for their collections.
Fortunately, these eccentric speculators are more than willing to rely on experienced travelers and anyone who has mastered the art of salvaging this sought-after material. Any brave courier willing to venture into these treacherous vaults to salvage strange loot can barter with these abandoned merchants, exchanging memorabilia for unique and sinisterly biomechanical frigate modules. Use them to add a terrifying touch to your existing frigate's appearance, or fully immerse yourself in the creepy atmosphere by building a brand-new "Scarecraft."
And this creepy decoration isn't limited to your starship. Determined scavengers will be rewarded with grotesque new "Larva Cultivation Tank Helmets," and can even purchase the writhing "Larva Cannon" multi-tool—provided you can supply enough pickled larvae.
As with all our updates, we couldn't resist squeezing in some extra features. With "Forsaken," we've added many luxurious new frigate cockpits, seamless warp functionality to stars visible in the sky, a brand-new minimalist HUD mode for advanced players, a radial weapon selection system, parcel delivery missions, and much more!
It has been a busy year for the No Man's Sky team, with "Forsaken" marking their fifth major update (following REMNANT, XENO ARENA, THE SWARM, and COSMOS). We are already deep into planning what crazy new content we can bring you in 2027.
