Reports: Warner Bros. Old Film Projects May Net Over $800 Million in Losses by 2026

Reports indicate that after reviewing film projects initiated by the previous management, Warner Bros.' new leadership team expects these films to incur a combined net loss of over $800 million in 2026. Among them, The Diggers is reportedly facing losses of approximately $250 million, while Supergirl is said to be losing around $200 million.

The 2027 slate is also said to face high costs and risks. The thriller Leave the World Behind, starring Julia Roberts, has a budget of $160 million; meanwhile, the comedy Paris Paramount became one of the more expensive projects in its genre due to ongoing conflicts during production.

Another film, The Other Side, was delayed to 2027 due to poor test screening performance, although the publicly stated reason for the delay was to prepare for an IMAX release.

The report also stated that Dan Lin, former head of Netflix's film division, did not invest personal funds in The Diggers, The Bride, and Paris Paramount, meaning Warner Bros. bears all financial risks for these projects. Currently, the aforementioned loss figures, internal evaluations, and project issues have not been corroborated by company financial reports, and Warner Bros. has not issued an official response.
