Fender has partnered with Pokémon Center to release two Japan-made electric guitars commemorating the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green. The two models are the "Red Version" Stratocaster and the "Green Version" Telecaster, both featuring a proprietary system that layers 8-bit electronic sounds.
The design of both guitars is based on the pixel art from the 1996 titles, incorporating visual elements from their respective versions into the body and pickguard, with the neck plate engraved with a 30th-anniversary pixel logo. Each guitar is equipped with custom single-coil pickups developed to match the tonal characteristics of its specific model.
Its core feature, the "8-Bit Sound System," can be activated by pressing the volume knob, layering 8-bit electronic sounds reminiscent of game music over standard electric guitar tones. The Red Version pickups emphasize higher output and a powerful tone, while the Green Version focuses on balanced output, clarity, and the sharp high frequencies characteristic of Telecasters.
Each product comes with ten Pokémon pixel-art picks, one 30th Anniversary logo pick, a special pick case, a certificate of authenticity, and a dedicated hard case, priced at 396,000 JPY (tax included) per unit. Lottery applications will be open from 12:00 on November 19, 2026, to 16:59 on November 24, 2026, exclusively through the Pokémon Center Online Store.
