Reports indicate that Assassin's Creed will strengthen the connection between historical narratives and modern-day storylines in the future, with multiple development teams already participating in a two-day workshop. Series Content Director Jean Guesdon also expressed his personal desire to remake Assassin's Creed III, but this does not mean the project has been confirmed.
This information comes from content creator JorRaptor's recap of a private discussion. Guesdon believes that while Assassin's Creed III has a strong foundation in terms of story and characters, there is room to redesign its gameplay and progression systems. Regarding the original Assassin's Creed and the Ezio Trilogy, he noted that a full-scale remake would require a massive investment.
However, Ubisoft previously stated that there are currently no active development projects for remakes in the Assassin's Creed series. Therefore, Guesdon's comments regarding Assassin's Creed III remain a matter of personal interest and should not be considered an official announcement of a project.
The report also states that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Memory Reset sold over 3.5 million copies within 14 days of launch, exceeding Ubisoft's expectations. High-quality expansion content typically requires 12 to 18 months of advance planning, and since the team had not prepared a corresponding roadmap, they did not proceed with developing large-scale DLC.
In terms of future content planning, Animus Hub will continue to serve as a connector for upcoming titles. Ubisoft is also reportedly planning special events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Assassin's Creed series in 2027.
