HYPNOS, a first-person adventure game developed by Redlock Studio, has officially launched its 1.0 version on Steam. Set within Lovecraftian psychedelic dreams, the game invites players to explore vast and bizarre architectures.
The path in dreams leads to Mount Kadath, the sacred mountain where the gods reside, while the Nameless City lies in its shadow. Players assume the role of Zhoron, a wanderer burdened by his past, who enters the city in search of a faceless boy that repeatedly appears in his dreams, attempting to unravel the mystery of his own fate.
Zhoron must solve various puzzles within the city, confront the monarch who has long ruled the land, and pass through the veil separating ignorance from truth. The game features a semi-open world structure, where players can encounter Dreamers, elves, and other strange creatures during their journey. Different characters are intertwined in a web of causality, and the player's actions will influence their respective fates.
Core gameplay interactions involve engaging with the environment and altering the dream's form, thereby reshaping the city and lifting the veil obscuring reality. Compared to the previous Early Access phase, this official 1.0 release focuses on atmospheric exploration, narrative puzzle-solving, and the connection between environmental changes and character destiny, rather than traditional action combat.
