"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered" Midnight Launch Draws Queues in Multiple Locations

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered held a midnight launch event, with players in many areas lining up at physical stores to purchase the game and the Zelda-themed Switch 2 console. The official Nintendo Store in Manhattan, New York, hosted an official event, while crowds also gathered outside retail stores such as Best Buy and GameStop.

Some lines began forming in the afternoon. On-site reports came from locations including Toronto, Canada; Bellevue, Washington, USA; and Tottenham Court Road in London, UK. One post from the scene stated that around 110 people were queuing outside a store in London.

Another on-site video showed players setting up a GameCube and TV outside a store to play games, and even ordering pizza for those waiting. While these individual cases from different locations cannot quantify the global scale of the event, they highlight the community atmosphere surrounding physical launches.

As digital distribution continues to expand, players can already purchase games through online stores, yet some still choose to visit physical stores, celebrating together and engaging in face-to-face interactions. With the declining influence of physical media, these large-scale midnight launch events may be gradually becoming rarer.
