The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered held its midnight launch in London, with over 600 people queuing at an Argos store on Tottenham Court Road. Only 500 copies were available on-site, and the player at the front of the line had been waiting for 30 hours by midnight.
Event details were announced only about 48 hours in advance. By 9 PM, the line had already wrapped around the store, with the end briefly approaching the start. Sinaa, who was first in line, had been camping since 6 PM the previous day, hoping to be among the first to get the game and its special N64-style outer box.
The event attracted players who traveled specifically from other cities, cosplayers, and participants playing ocarinas, while others spontaneously organized Switch Sports: Resort tournaments. Most interviewees had played the original N64 version multiple times, while a few were preparing to experience the game for the first time.
After the store opened at midnight, the line moved slowly, with some players who arrived that night still waiting to enter after 2 AM. Since attendance exceeded the available stock, some people in line may not have been able to purchase the game; copies obtained on-site came with a foil slipcase, N64-style packaging, and a keychain.
