Today, EA announced the re-release of seven classic PC games, including the Road Rash Anniversary Edition and six titles from the Wing Commander series as Anniversary Editions. In addition to these Anniversary Editions, EA will also re-release another 18 classic games on Steam for the first time, including classic RPGs from the Ultima series, Crusader, Theme Hospital, and more.
A total of 25 beloved games are coming to Steam, with the full list below.
Each Anniversary Edition preserves the original visual style, experience, and creative intent, while adding quality-of-life improvements to support modern systems and controls, enhance performance, and make the games more accessible without compromising their original authenticity.
These Anniversary Editions were crafted with great care, inspired by the discovery of a physical media archive containing thousands of Betacam, VHS, and D1 tapes, along with other media assets. Through digital restoration, the team recovered Master FMV sequences for seven legendary games previously thought lost, and after meticulous re-editing, restored over 1,500 cinematic cutscenes across these titles. This reflects EA's ongoing commitment to classic works: refreshing them for longtime fans while introducing a new generation to the games that shaped the history of PC gaming.
The improvements in each restored Wing Commander title were made possible by the passionate player community. Community members actively collaborated with the EA team to integrate their mods into the official releases. This launch is also a tribute to the community's long-standing support for the series. As such, players who already own digital copies of the Wing Commander series on GOG or the EA App will automatically receive the Anniversary Edition upgrades for free on their respective platforms.
The Road Rash and Wing Commander Anniversary Editions are now available, with a suggested retail price of 58 RMB each; all other classic games have a suggested retail price of 28 RMB each. The complete collection will be released on Steam, GOG, and the EA App, with a 50% discount available on Steam and GOG from November 5th to 20th.
