A recent Piper Sandler survey of 9,000 teenagers found that 90% of respondents expressed interest in playing GTA 6's online mode. However, Rockstar has not yet announced this mode, and retailer product pages currently list the game as a single-player title.
The survey also revealed that 40% of participants plan to pay for additional content. Among respondents who own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, 70% intend to buy GTA 6; of these, 55% plan to purchase it immediately upon release, while another 15% intend to wait a few months.
Previous data from Circana showed that nearly one-third of US console and PC players plan to purchase the game, marking the highest level since the firm began measuring purchase intent.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19. Rockstar has not yet clarified its support plans for the existing Grand Theft Auto Online following the new game's launch, nor has it announced whether the online mode will carry over to the new title. Therefore, the survey results only reflect respondents' desires and should not be taken as official confirmation of an online mode.
