Codenexus Entertainment announced that the Simplified Chinese version of Earth Defense Force 6 for Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on January 28, 2027, with the trailer updated simultaneously. This version adds local multiplayer for up to four players, allowing each participant to join the battle using their own Switch 2 console.
Developed by D3PUBLISHER, this title continues the story of Earth Defense Force 5. Although humanity repelled the unknown invaders, it came at the cost of a 90% reduction in the global population, with social systems and civilization on the brink of collapse. Survivors will once again confront despair and fate in this sequel.
The game features the largest number of missions in the series' history, along with a wide variety of weapons, vehicles, and four soldier classes. All missions support online co-op for up to four players, allowing teams to join forces in battle.
In addition to the existing online co-op and two-player split-screen modes, the Switch 2 version adds local multiplayer for up to four players. Local play on a single console still supports two-player split-screen, while four-player local multiplayer requires each player to have their own Switch 2 console.
