American pilot Benjamin McDaniel flew for approximately 8 hours and 8 minutes, drawing a massive GTA6-themed image on the flight tracking map. This trail art creation was completed over Arkansas, featuring the game's logo, a helicopter, palm trees, an alligator, a sports car, and an armed female character.
McDaniel undertook this creation under the name "Pilot Picasso," using a Cessna R182 Skylane RG aircraft. The artwork was not directly presented through aerial smoke trails but was achieved via a pre-planned route: the aircraft continuously transmitted location data, and the complete flight path eventually formed the designed pattern on the tracking service's map.
During the creation process, viewers could track the flight in near real-time via Flightradar24. The platform noticed that the aircraft with registration number N1810R was flying an unusual route and even invited users to guess what the pilot was ultimately drawing.
McDaniel has previously recreated images such as the Mona Lisa, The Scream, and characters from Ghostbusters and The Lord of the Rings using flight trails, with some flights attracting over one million views according to Flightradar24 data. This GTA6-themed piece was carried out independently by him, with no current information indicating involvement or funding from Rockstar Games.
