Henry Cavill partnered with Google to create the 16-bit retro game "The Mustache Pact," tying it into the Movember charity fundraising campaign. Google plans to donate $11 per play from November 11 to 30, 2026, with a cumulative cap of $500,000.
In the game, players must stop a rogue VFX artist from erasing all mustaches worldwide. This concept stems from Cavill's experience filming the 2017 movie "Justice League": reshoots conflicted with his mustached look for "Mission: Impossible – Fallout," resulting in his mustache being digitally removed.
Google stated that Cavill used several built-in tools in Googlebook to complete the creation. Antigravity converts natural language prompts into 16-bit game mechanics, Rambler handles speech-to-text and organizes ideas, Magic Pointer is used to select and combine visual elements, and Continue On allows work to continue between Android phones and Googlebook.
Proceeds from the event will support men's mental health, suicide prevention, and work related to prostate and testicular cancer. Google also plans to release a three-part behind-the-scenes series covering character design, abilities inspired by internet memes, and the music production process. Currently, the "The Mustache Pact" page only displays "Coming Soon" and is not yet playable.
