Nintendo Announces Emergency Maintenance for Nintendo Store; Web and Mobile Recovery Time Undetermined

Nintendo announced on November 6 that the Nintendo Store is undergoing emergency maintenance. The maintenance began around 16:00 on the same day, affecting the website as well as the iOS and Android apps. The restoration time has not yet been determined.

The Nintendo Store allows users to purchase game software and other items via web browsers and mobile apps. Nintendo has not disclosed the specific reason for this emergency maintenance nor provided an estimated completion time, and related services may currently be temporarily unavailable.

The official website previously indicated that the Nintendo Store was scheduled for maintenance starting at 17:00 on that day, but this notice was later removed. The change in the page led to speculation that the scheduled maintenance had been moved up, though Nintendo has not confirmed any connection between the emergency maintenance and the original plan.

The Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles also had scheduled maintenance on the same day, from approximately 17:00 to 18:00, but this was part of a previously announced planned maintenance. The two maintenance events involve different portals and announcement types, so the restoration status of the Nintendo Store will depend on subsequent announcements from Nintendo.
