Kiwi Walks, the developer behind the Witch Spring series, has officially announced the 3D action RPG Shadow of the Doll: The Story of Piyurita. The game is planned for a 2027 release on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, as well as PC via Steam, though specific console models have not yet been disclosed.
The new title retains the worldview of the Witch Spring series but tells a fresh story centered around the doll Piyurita. The game combines fast-paced action combat, narrative progression, and crafting systems, requiring players to explore hidden rooms on the other side of the mirror and absorb other dolls encountered along the way.
The order in which players unlock rooms will change the scenes they see and affect how the story unfolds. Players can choose which hidden rooms to open, guiding Piyurita, known as the "Little Bird," to gradually absorb other dolls and advance toward the goal of becoming the "completed work."
Piyurita begins as an empty doll devoid of emotions and memories. Awakened by a familiar voice in a place called the "White Nest," she starts searching for "food" prepared specifically for her. The voice tells her that only by seizing the life force of other dolls and completing herself can she become the "completed work."
The room behind the mirror leads to a world that seems unfamiliar yet feels strangely familiar to her. Here, Piyurita will battle other dolls, while "failures" who also crave approval from that voice harbor hostility toward her, competing for the chance to become the "completed work."
Kiwi Walks has already released the game trailer and first screenshots. Shadow of the Doll is scheduled for release in 2027, with specific launch dates for each platform yet to be announced.
