SNK has announced that the NEOGEO AES+, a classic retro console developed in collaboration with PLAION REPLAI, will feature several additional games, including unreleased secret titles that never made it to the NEOGEO platform. Stay tuned.
·The NEOGEO AES is a home video game system launched by SNK in 1990. Initially intended for commercial use, it was released as a home console due to player demand. Its arcade counterpart is the MVS board. The platform's hardware architecture is fully interchangeable with the arcade version, supporting cartridges of the same specifications.
·Five classic games have been newly added: "Magical Drop II/III," "Zero Wing," "Fighter's History Dynamite," "Miracle Adventure," and "Dark Angel."
·Among them, the most noteworthy title is "Zero Wing," a side-scrolling shooter released in 1989. At the time, it was only ported to consoles like the Mega Drive and PC Engine, without a NEOGEO version. Now, players can revisit these classics.
The NEOGEO AES+ was originally scheduled for release on November 12, but the official announcement has confirmed a delay until September 16 next year.
