In an interview with Game LIFE at the 2026 Tokyo Game Show, director Daisuke Yajima explained that Persona 4 Golden's rating increase to CERO C was not due to broader themes, but rather influenced by a character bathing animation. The presentation of this clip was considered somewhat suggestive, ultimately affecting the game's classification.
When remaking the story, Atlus did not recreate this content as-is; instead, they adjusted the presentation and replaced it with a slightly different event. As a result, the content that previously led to Persona 4 Golden receiving a CERO C rating no longer appears in Persona 4: Reload.
The development team has not specified which bath scene was replaced. What is confirmed is that this change has returned Persona 4: Reload's age rating to the original CERO B rating.
