AMATA has announced that Ace Attorney 5 VR, developed under license from Capcom, will launch on the Meta Quest platform in 2027. The official teaser website has also gone live, along with the release of the first trailer.
This title is the VR version of Ace Attorney 5, the fifth installment in the courtroom battle adventure game series Ace Attorney. The story begins with Phoenix Wright returning to the courtroom as a lawyer after an eight-year hiatus, with an explosion inside the courtroom serving as the inciting incident. Players will join Apollo Justice and rookie attorney Athena Cykes in confronting the "Dark Age of the Law," where victory takes precedence over truth.
Ace Attorney 5 VR supports hand tracking, allowing players to perform actions such as pinching and tapping, or they can play using controllers. During investigation segments, players can examine VR-reconstructed crime scenes from different angles to collect evidence and testimonies.
Courtroom battles have also been adapted for VR. Players must compare testimonies with evidence and use gestures to point out contradictions. Case-solving systems such as "Psyche-Locks," which uncover emotional inconsistencies, and "Logic Chess," which gradually deduces the truth, will also be retained and presented in VR format.
The English description on the Meta Store also mentions that the game supports shouting "Objection!" via voice input. The game is expected to support Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, Quest 2, and Meta VR Glasses. It is a single-player experience with over 15 hours of gameplay, and the price has not yet been announced.
