Marvelous and Grounding have announced the VR version of Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, scheduled for release in spring 2027 on Quest 3 and new Meta VR headsets. This farming simulation game will feature controls redesigned for virtual reality, allowing players to manage their farms with their own hands.
Players can tend to fields and animals, harvest crops to sell, and visit town each day. Beyond farming, activities like fishing, mining, checking bulletin boards, and getting to know residents are also retained.
A major change in the VR version is full hand-tracking support. The developers stated that players can go without controllers throughout the game, such as using their fingers directly to open buildings or select plots on the farm.
The game also adds new mini-games for VR. Milking cows and shearing sheep will be performed using two-handed motions, replacing traditional button-based controls.
Interpersonal relationships and family life remain part of the gameplay. Players can meet residents, find a partner, and start a family in Forgotten Valley, managing their farm over many in-game years and witnessing changes in the protagonist's life.
