Today, Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, officially went on sale across all channels.
According to the sales rules for mainland China published on Apple's official website, the starting price for this new foldable phone is 15,999 yuan, with a purchase limit of two units per verified user. The device features a book-style large foldable design, is powered by the latest A20 Pro chip, and does not include a physical SIM card slot in any version, supporting only eSIM virtual carrier services.
As the official launch date approached, the significant premiums seen in the second-hand market during the pre-sale phase for the iPhone Duo began to drop sharply.
Just one week after pre-sales began, the markup for all capacity versions of the iPhone Duo series narrowed significantly, with the premium shrinkage for many mainstream models approaching 50%.
Taking the best-selling 256GB model as an example, the average online transaction price in the second-hand digital market has dropped from 20,560 yuan on October 16 to 18,237 yuan. Compared to the official starting price, the markup has narrowed directly from 4,561 yuan to 2,238 yuan, with the premium shrinking by 50.9% in just one week.
The higher-end 512GB model also saw a clear trend of plummeting premiums, with the average online transaction price dropping from 22,666 yuan to 20,388 yuan. The markup narrowed from 4,667 yuan to 2,389 yuan, representing a shrinkage of approximately 48.8%.
Even the flagship 1TB and 2TB top-tier models saw significant declines in their premium margins, dropping by approximately 40.3% and 47.9%, respectively.
