The December issue of Monthly Hobby Japan, released on October 23, officially launched the serialization of "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV," simultaneously unveiling the "Strike Freedom CDE-Spec Machine" and "Immortal Justice CDE-Spec Machine." Both mobile suits are designated as simplified production models.
The two CDE-spec machines are based on the "Strike Freedom Gundam" and "Immortal Justice Gundam," respectively, and were designed to allow organizations other than COMPASS to utilize them. Currently disclosed information mainly includes the mobile suit names, their intended use, and how the project was announced; more detailed differences in armaments, performance parameters, and product release plans have not yet been revealed.
This project also marks the return of the official side story "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED MSV," a collaboration between Sunrise and Hobby Japan, after approximately 20 years, now in a new form centered around "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM." The serialization will continue to expand the mobile suit variants within the work through setting illustrations by Kunio Okawara and others, mobile suit settings written by Shigeru Morita of Studio Nue, and physical examples created by magazine modelers.
In addition to serialization in print magazines, the official Mobile Suit Gundam SEED website plans to gradually release mobile suit settings for "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV" starting in November, allowing readers who did not purchase the magazine to access the related materials later.
