The No More Room in Hell 2 Update 1.2 is now available to all players, primarily adding the "Ruby Lake" survival map and the "Responder Retirement" system, along with three new cosmetic DLCs.
Located outside Warren County, New Jersey, Ruby Lake creates a Halloween atmosphere with its dark forests, abandoned cabins, and eerie sound effects, paying homage to several classic horror works. This map is only available in the Survival mode added in version 1.0. Players cannot directly select it, but it has a higher chance of being chosen by the system during limited-time events. Once in the map, players must hold fixed positions against increasingly difficult waves of infected, making strategic use of resources and defensive structures.
The "Responder Retirement" system allows characters who survive and reach level 100 to retire permanently in exchange for Distinguished Service Progress Points. The exact amount depends on the character's level and equipped enhancement skills. Increasing your Distinguished Level grants permanent skills, items, additional starting inventory slots, and exclusive cosmetics, with more levels to be unlocked in the future. Before reaching Distinguished Level 30, each level-up will also permanently increase the starting level of subsequently recruited Responders. These progression rewards are also designed to help tackle the upcoming difficulty adjustments for "Hell Mode".
This update also introduces three cosmetic DLCs for No More Room in Hell 2: the "Killer Cat" Cosmetic DLC, the "Enforcer" Cosmetic DLC, and the "Scarecrow" Cosmetic DLC. The cat compass and icons in the "Killer Cat" pack were sourced from an official Discord community contest.
Other adjustments include adding subtitles for relevant dialogue, expanding voice chat range, improving in-game communication, tweaking the Power Plant map, and fixing various issues. The game is currently on sale with a 25% discount until November 2nd.
