Diablo IV Season 16 PTR Revamps Warband with Strategy Tree, Tyrael's Boons, and Horadric Gear

Blizzard has announced the PTR testing highlights for Diablo IV update 3.3.0, which will continue to adjust the "War Plans" endgame system introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The Season 16 PTR will also test Tyrael's Boons, Horadric Legendary items, and dual-boss battles.

The new "War Plan Strategies" will level up as players complete various endgame activities. Points earned can be invested in web nodes to adjust the probability of activity types and rewards appearing in subsequent War Plans. Up to three points can be allocated to activities like Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, or The Pit, and players can also increase the frequency of advanced variants such as Mega Helltides and upgraded dungeons. Another set of nodes covers loot categories including armor, weapons, jewelry, charms, materials, gold, and activity keys. This system applies to both Seasonal and Eternal modes.

Season 16 will also introduce the "Tyrael's Boons" page, providing enhancements to seasonal reputation, currencies, crafting costs, and specific mechanics. Players can reset their skill points using gold at a cost of 5 million gold per point. This system will not replace Season Blessings.

Test content also includes Horadric Legendary items with additional affixes that can increase charm set counts or trigger additional effects when reaching the two-piece threshold. The Corrupted Reaper will appear alongside the Shattered Reaper, forming a dual-boss battle.

Other changes include a new currency called "Wisdom Sigils" for resetting War Plans, as well as reward tracks such as "Advanced Tempering." The PTR will be open from October 27 to November 3. The test server will not showcase all content for Season 16, and some features carried over from Season 15 will be announced separately.
