Developer zenZeroSim has revealed the Steam store page for Zen Cottage: Zero Simulator. This simulation game, centered on "doing nothing," is scheduled for release on November 4th. Players' main activity involves continuously watching a house in a surreal grassland.
The game features no enemies, complex controls, or conventional objectives to complete, nor does it include a weather system that players can influence. The sky and lighting in the scene change over time, while the meticulously rendered grass primarily serves to present the surrounding environment.
The game retains a formal leveling system. Players simply sit and gaze at the scenery, causing their level to rise dynamically, numerically recording the time invested. The camera can observe the house from the front or adjust its angle slightly, but this does not lead to traditional gameplay.
The developers introduce the game with self-deprecating humor, stating that its design purposes include wasting time and amplifying existential anxiety, juxtaposing the player, the house, and nothingness. The game aims to present "doing nothing" itself through minimal interaction, allowing players to observe the environment without competition, pressure to progress, or clear tasks. Currently announced materials do not provide pricing or more specific language support information.
